 Story number #1

बादशाह अकबर को पहेलियों सुनने-सुनाने का बड़ा शौक था. वह अक्सर पहेलियों में बातें करते और अपने दरबारियों को उन्हें बूझने को कहते थे. एक दिन उन्होंने राजदरबार की कार्यवाही समाप्त होने के बाद उन्होंने दरबारियों से एक पहेली पूछी, “ऊपर ढक्कन नीचे ढक्कन, मध्य-मध्य खरबूजा. मौं छुरी से काटे आपहिं, अर्थ तासु नाहिं दूजा.”

कोई दरबारी इस पहेली को बूझ नहीं पाया. बीरबल ने भी यह पहेली पहली बार सुनी थी. उसे भी इसका अर्थ समझ नहीं आया.

दरबारियों से अकबर को अधिक उम्मीद नहीं थी. इसलिए वे बीरबल से बोले, “बीरबल! तुम तो अपनी अक्लमंदी के लिए दूर-दूर तक मशहूर हो. तुमसे तो इस पहेली का जवाब मिलना ही चाहिए. बताओ इसका क्या मतलब हुआ?”

फ़ौरन जवाब दे पाना बीरबल के लिए संभव नहीं था. उसने कुछ दिनों की मोहलत मांग ली.  

मोहलत पाकर बीरबल अकबर द्वारा पूछी गई पहेली का जवाब खोजने निकल पड़ा. घूमते-घूमते वह एक गाँव में पहुँचा. रात होने लगी थी. वह भूख-प्यास से व्याकुल हो रहा था. इसलिए एक मकान देखकर वह उसके भीतर चला गया. वहाँ उसने देखा कि आँगन में चूल्हे पर एक लड़की खाना बना रही है.

बीरबल ने उससे पूछा, “पुत्री! क्या कर रही हो?”

“आप देख तो रहे हैं कि मैं बेटी को पका रही हूँ और माँ को जला रही हूँ.” लड़की बोली.

लड़की की बात बीरबल को समझ नहीं आई. उसने उस बात को छोड़कर पूछा, “तुम्हारे पिताजी कहाँ है?’

“वो मिट्टी को मिट्टी में मिला रहे हैं.” लड़की ने उत्तर दिया.

लड़की की गोल-मोल बातें बीरबल को समझ नहीं आ रही थी. उसने सोचा कि लगता है इसका पिता कहीं गया हुआ है. इसलिए उसने सोचा चलो इसकी माँ ने बारे में ही पूछ लेता हूँ. उसने पूछा, “पुत्री! ये तो बताओ तुम्हारी माँ क्या कर रही है?”

“वह एक का दो कर रही है.” लड़की ने इस बार भी उसे कोई सीधा उत्तर नहीं दिया.

इतनी देर में बीरबल समझ गया कि ये लड़की उम्र में कम अवश्य है, लेकिन बुद्धि में किसी से कम नहीं. उसी समय लड़की के माता-पिता भी वहाँ आ पहुँचे. उन्हें बीरबल ने अपना परिचय दिया.

उन्होंने बीरबल की आव-भगत की. उसके भोजन की व्यवस्था की. भोजन करने के बाद बीरबल ने लड़की से पूछा, “तुम्हारी सारी बातें पहेलियों में थी. अब मुझे उसका अर्थ भी समझा दो.”

लड़की ने बताया, “आपने पहले प्रश्न पर मैंने कहा था कि मैं बेटी को पका रही हूँ और माँ को जला रही हूँ. ऐसा मैंने इसलिए कहा था, क्योंकि मैं अरहर की दाल अरहर की लकड़ियों पर पका रही थी. फिर आपके दूसरे प्रश्न पर मैंने कहा था कि मेरे पिताजी मिट्टी को मिट्टी में मिला रहे हैं. ऐसा मैंने इसलिए कहा था क्योंकि मेरे पिताजी एक व्यक्ति के अंतिम संस्कार में गए हुए थे. आपके तीसरे प्रश्न के उत्तर में मैंने कहा था कि मेरी माँ एक के दो कर रही है. ऐसा मैंने इसलिए कहा था क्योंकि मेरे माँ उस समय दाल दल रही थी.”

बीरबल लड़की की बात से बहुत प्रभावित हुआ. उसे समझ आ गया कि बादशाह अकबर की जिस पहेली को बूझने वह निकला है, उसका उत्तर यह लड़की ही दे सकती हैं. उसने लड़की को वह पहली बताई और उसे बूझने को कहा.

लड़की ने बिना देर किये उत्तर दिया, “इसका अर्थ है कि धरती और आकाश दो ढक्कन हैं. उनमें निवास करने वाले मनुष्य खरबूजा हैं. मृत्यु आने पर वह अपने आप ही मर जाता है, जैसे गर्मी में माँ पिघल जाती है.”

बीरबल को पहेली का उत्तर मिल चुका था. उसने लड़की को ईनाम दिया और अपने घर की ओर चल पड़ा. सारी रात वह चैन से सोया और अगले दिन राजदरबार जाकर उसने अकबर को पहेली का उत्तर दे दिया. बीरबल ने बिल्कुल सही पहेली बूझी थी. अकबर ख़ुश हो हुए. उन्होंने तारीफ़ के साथ ही बीरबल को ईनाम दिया  ||

 It was not possible for Birbal to answer immediately.  He asked for a few days of deferment.

 After getting the delay, Birbal went out to find the answer to the riddle asked by Akbar.  While wandering, he reached a village.  It was getting dark.  He was getting distraught with hunger and thirst.  Therefore, seeing a house, he went inside it.  There he saw a girl cooking on a stove in the courtyard.

 Birbal asked her, "Daughter!  What are you doing?"

 "You see that I am cooking the daughter and I am burning the mother."  The girl said.

 Birbal did not understand about the girl. He left that and asked, "Where is your father?"

 "They are mixing the soil with the soil."  The girl answered.

 Birbal was not able to understand the girl's thoughts.  He thought that his father seems to have gone somewhere.  So he thought, let's ask his mother only.  He asked, "Daughter!"  Tell me, what is your mother doing?

 "She is doing one of two."  The girl also did not give him a straight answer this time.

 In such a time, Birbal understood that this girl is definitely less in age, but no less than anyone in intellect.  At the same time, the girl's parents also reached there.  Birbal introduced himself to them.

 He paid obeisance to Birbal.  Arranged his food.  After having food, Birbal asked the girl, "All your things were in riddles.  Now let me explain its meaning as well. "

 The girl said, "On the first question I told you that I am cooking the daughter and I am burning the mother."  I said this because I was cooking arhar dal on the wood of arhar.  Then on your second question I said that my father is mixing soil with soil.  I said this because my father had gone to a person's funeral.  In response to your third question, I said that my mother is doing two of one.  I said this because my mother was a Dal Dal at that time. "

 Birbal was very impressed by the girl's talk.  He understood that only this girl can answer the puzzle of Emperor Akbar which he has figured out.  He told the girl that first and asked her to figure it out.

 The girl replied without delay, "It means that the earth and the sky are two caps."  Humans living in them are melons.  On death, he dies on his own, as the mother melts in the heat. "

 Birbal had found the answer to the riddle.  He gave the girl a reward and walked towards her house.  He slept all night and went to the court the next day and gave Akbar the answer to the riddle.  Birbal figured out the perfect puzzle.  Akbar was happy.  He gave Birbal a prize with praise. ||

सड़क पर कितने मोड़ : अकबर बीरबल की कहानी | Akbar Birbal Stories In Hindi

 फ़ारस के शहंशाह और बादशाह अकबर गहरे मित्र थे. अक्सर पत्र लिखकर वे एक-दूसरे का हाल-चाल पूछते रहते थे. पत्र में वे आमोद-प्रमोद की बातें, लतीफ़े और पहेलियाँ भी लिखते थे. पहेलियों का उत्तर सही मिलने पर वे एक-दूसरे को उपहार भी भेजा करते थे.

एक बार फ़ारस के शहंशाह का पत्र अकबर को प्राप्त हुआ, जिसमें उन्होंने एक प्रश्न लिखकर प्रेषित किया था. प्रश्न कुछ ऐसा था – “आपके राज्य की सड़कों पर कितने मोड़ हैं?”

 

प्रश्न पढ़कर अकबर (Akbar) सोच में पड़ गए. उनका सम्राज्य दूर-दूर तक फैला हुआ था. इतने विस्तृत साम्राज्य में सड़कों की संख्या भी अत्यधिक थी. ऐसे में सभी सड़कों के मोड़ों की गणना कर पाना एक नामुमकिन कार्य था.

 

लेकिन अकबर फ़ारस के शहंशाह के सामने शर्मिंदा नहीं होना चाहते थे. उन्हें किसी भी सूरत में इस प्रश्न का उत्तर देना ही था. उन्होंने टोडरमल को बुलवाया और कहा, “टोडरमल! तुम अभी तुरंत कुछ सैनिकों को लेकर निकल जाओ. तुम्हें हमारे पूरे साम्राज्य की सड़कों के मोड़ों की गणना करनी है. किसी भी सूरत में हमें ये काम पूरा करके दो.”

  टोडरमल कुछ सैनिकों को लेकर तुरंत निकल गया. लेकिन कई दिन बीत जाने के बाद भी नहीं लौटा. इधर अकबर को चिंता सताने लगी कि ये कार्य टोडरमल कर पायेगा भी या नहीं?

 

एक दिन बीरबल ने अकबर को चिंतित देखा, तो पूछ बैठा, “जहाँपनाह! क्या बात है? आप बड़े चिंतित लग रहे हैं?

 

अकबर ने फ़ारस के शहंशाह के पत्र और उसमें पूछे गए प्रश्न के बारे में बीरबल को बताते हुए कहा, “बीरबल! हमने टोडरमल को राज्य की सभी सड़कों के मोड़ों की संख्या की गणना के लिए भेजा है. हमें उसकी ही प्रतीक्षा है. साथ ही ये चिंता भी कि वो ये काम पूरा करके लौटेंगा या नहीं.”

 

फ़ारस के शहंशाह के पूछे गए प्रश्न को जानकर बीरबल मुस्कुरा उठा और बोला, “जहाँपनाह! इस आसान से प्रश्न के लिए आपको टोडरमल को कहीं भी भेजने की आवश्यकता नहीं थी. मैं तो यही खड़े-खड़े ये बता सकता हूँ कि आपके राज्य की सड़कों पर कितने मोड़ हैं. यहाँ तक कि मैं तो ये भी बता सकता हूँ कि पूरी दुनिया की सड़कों में कितने मोड़ हैं.”

“बीरबल! तुम बिना गणना किये हमारे राज्य और दुनिया की सड़कों के मोड़ों की संख्या बता सकते हो. कैसे?” अकबर हैरत में पड़ गए.

 

“जहाँपनाह! क्योंकि इसमें गणना की आवश्यकता ही नहीं है. दुनिया की सारी सड़कों के बस दो ही तो मोड़ होते हैं. एक दांया और दूसरा बांया.” बीरबल (birbal) ने शांतभाव से उत्तर दिया.

 

ये उत्तर सुनकर अकबर हँस पड़े, “अरे, हमने तो ये सोचा ही नहीं और टोडरमल को सड़कों के मोड़ों की गणना के लिए भेज दिया. बीरबल तुम वाकई अक्लमंद हो.”

 

अकबर ने बीरबल को इनाम में सोने का हार दिया और फ़ारस के शहंशाह के प्रश्न का उत्तर उन्हें भिजवा दिया ||

 Todarmal left immediately with some soldiers.  But did not return even after several days passed.  Here Akbar began to worry that whether he would be able to do this task or not" 

 One day Birbal saw Akbar worried, then asked, “Jahanpanah!  Wow?  You look worried?

 Akbar told Birbal about the letter of the emperor of Persia and the question asked in it, "Birbal!  We have sent Todarmal to calculate the number of turns of all the roads in the state.  We are waiting for that only.  At the same time, there is also a worry whether he will return after completing this work or not. ”

 On knowing the question of the emperor of Persia, Birbal smiled and said, "Jahanpanah!"  For this simple question you did not need to send to Todarmal anywhere.  I can only tell this by standing how many turns are there on the roads of your state.  Even I can tell you how many roads are there in the roads of the whole world. ”
