मम्मी, अब मैं कैसे स्कूल जाऊं, मेरी तो ड्रेस ही साफ नहीं है।” कहते हुए
शालू की आंखें शरारत से चमक उठीं। आज क्लास टेस्ट था और वह उसे मिस करना
चाहती थी।
“कोई बात नहीं, तुम फ्रेस हो लो। मैं ड्रैस देखती हूं।” कहते हुए मम्मी मुसकरा उठीं।
शालू तो बाथरूम में घुस गई, पर बीस मिनट बाद वह नहाकर बाहर आई, तो मम्मी के
हाथों में चमचमाती स्कूल ड्रैस देखकर चकित रह गई। फिर उसकी निगाह कोने में
रखी वाशिंग मशीन पर गई।
“पता नहीं किस बदमाश ने वाशिंग मशीन बनाई? वह बच्चों को बिल्कुल प्यार नहीं करता होगा।” भुनभुनाते हुए शालू तैयार होने लगी।

कपड़ों को हाथ से रगड़कर धोना। साबुन में कास्टिक ज्यादा हो, तो हाथ तक कट
जाते थे। फिर उन कपड़ों को सुखाना और घर तक लाना, किसी यातना से कम नहीं
लगता था।

गई और सारा सूप उसके पैरों पर गिर पड़ा।”

“यह तो कुछ भी नहीं।” कहते-हुए मारग्रेट को हंसी आ गई-“पिछले दिनों मैं
यूरी व उसके दोस्तों को लेकर एक रेस्तरां में गई। वहां यूरी तो पेस्ट्री
खाने में मस्त हो गया, कि रेस्तरा में चीख-पुकार मच गई। वहां के लोगों के
हाथों में पकड़ी चम्मचें जैसे की रबर की बनकर लटक गईं। घबराकर लोग इधर से
उधर भागने लगे। मैं समझ गई, यह सब यूरी का कमाल है और चुपचाप मैं बच्चों के
लेकर वहां से बाहर आ गई।”
ऐसी बातें सुनकर तिबोर के चेहरे पर भी चिंता की लकीरें दिखाई देने लगीं।
अगले दिन दोनों यूरी के एक डाक्टर के पास ले गए। पर वह क्या करता? यूरी के
अंदर की ताकत को मापने का कोई पैमाना तो था नहीं।
यूरी गैलर का जन्म 20 दिसंबर 1946 को इसराइल के तेल अबीब शहर में हुआ था।
उसकी मां जर्मन थीं, पर बचपन में ही वह हंगरी आ गई थीं। वहीं बाद में उनका
ब्याह तिबोर से हुआ। विवाह के बाद वे इसराइल आ गए। और वहीं यूरी गैलर का
जन्म हुआ। मां मारग्रेट हंगरी को कभी नहीं भूल पाईं। और आज भी वह बात करती
हैं तो हंगेरियन भाषा का ही प्रयोग करती हैं। यही उन्होंने अपने बेटे यूरी
को सिखाया और अब यूरी की बेटी नतालिया अपनी दादी से हंगेरियन में ही बात
करती है।
एक बार यूरी कहीं बाहर गया हुआ था कि उसके पिता की तबीयत खराब हो गई। मां
किसी तरह पड़ोसियों की मदद से उन्हें अस्पताल ले गई। कोई जरिया नहीं था
जिससे यूरी गैलर को सूचना दी जा सकती। मां परेशान थीं कि क्या करतीं। तभी
सामने से उन्हें यूरी गैलर आता दिखाई दिया। वह अस्पताल का बिल भर चुका था।
इसकी मां आज तक समझ नहीं पाईं कि कैसे वह समय से अपनेआप अस्पताल पहुंच गया
था।
गैलर इफेक्ट्स कब शुरू हुआ, इसका ठीक-ठीक अंदाजा, यूरी को भी नहीं है। हां,
अहम मोड़ मिस्र-इजराइल युद्ध को मान सकते हैं। जून 1967 में छह दिन चले इस
युद्ध में यूरी ने एक पैराट्रूपर के रूप में भाग लिया था। पर युद्ध के
पहले दिन ही उसके एक मित्र की मौत हो गई, तो वह टूट गया और उसे घर भेज दिया
गया। पर अगले दिन सायरन की आवाज सुनकर वह उठा, तो रेडियो पर खबर सुनाई दी
कि इजराइली एयर फोर्स ने मिस्र की एयरफोर्स को तहस नहस कर दिया है। वह जाकर
फिर से अपनी यूनिट में शामिल हो गया। उसे छह लोगों के दल का मुखिया बनाया
गया। पर युद्ध के दौरान एक समय ऐसा आया, जब मौत उसके सिर पर खड़ी हो गई।
एक सैनिक उसे गोली मारने वाला था। तब एक पल के लिए सैनिक की आंखें यूरी से
मिलीं। वह ठिठका और इस बीच यूरी के बंदूक की गोली ने उस सैनिक का काम तमाम
कर दिया।
उस दिन ने यूरी के जीवन की धारा बदल दी। वह नौकरी छोड़ अपनी दिमागी ताकत का
खेल दिखाने लगा। लोग उसे रेस्तरां में बुलाते, मुड़ते चम्मचों का तमाशा
देखते और ताली बजाते, पर उसकी मानसिक ताकत का अंदाजा कोई नहीं लगा पाता।
ऐसे ही एक खेल के दौरान 1969 में एक पत्रकार से उसकी मुलाकात हुई। उसने
टेलीविजन पर गेलर का साक्षात्कार लिया। उसके पहले शब्द थे-“यदि आप भविष्य
के बारे में कुछ जानना चाहते हैं, तो यूरी गैलर से संपर्क करें।” और इस
इंटरव्यूह के बाद वह रातों रात दुनिया में मशहूर हो गया।
1972 में वैज्ञानिकों ने स्टैनफोर्ड रिसर्च इंस्टीच्यूट, कैलिफोर्निया में
यूरी गैलर की प्रतिभा को परखने की कोशिश की। पर अपनी मानसिक शक्ति से धातु
की केन को मोड़कर उसने वैज्ञानिकों को हैरान कर दिया। तब वैज्ञानिक
घबरा-से गए, जब यूरी ने बिना देखे वहां बंद बक्से में रखे गोपनीय पेपर्स

खोलना। चुपचाप उसे अपने स्कूल बैग में रख लेना।”
अभेद मुसकरा उठा। खुशी से बोला, “रेहाना, तुम कितनी अच्छी हो। क्या वाकई उस जादुई माचिस से मेरी परेशानी दूर हो जाएगी?”
रेहाना आंखें मटकाकर बोली, “यह तुम्हें जादुई माचिस रखने के बाद ही पता चलेगा।”
अभेद ने कहा, “ठीक है, मैं छुट्टी के बाद तुम्हारे साथ तुम्हारे घर चलूंगा।”
तभी घंटी बजी, सब अपनी क्लास में चले गए।
छुट्टी हुई, तो अभेद रेहाना के साथ उसके घर चला आया। माचिस देते हुए रेहाना

ने खुश होकर हां में सिर हिलाया।
अगले दिन सुबह रेहाना स्कूल गेट पर खड़ी थी। तभी अभेद दौड़ता हुआ आया और

बढि़या नींद भी आई।”

कमाल हो गया। मैंने देर रात तक रिवीजन किया। मैं सुबह जल्दी भी उठ गया।

दोनों क्लास की ओर चल पड़े। पेपर खत्म हुआ, तो रेहाना ने अभेद से पूछा, “एग्जाम कैसा हुआ?”
अभेद मुसकराते हुए बोला, “बहुत अच्छा।”
“अच्छा ही होना चाहिए। सभी एग्जाम की जमकर तैयारी करो। मैं भी कर रही हूं।” कहकर रेहाना घर चली गई।
आखिरी पेपर देने के बाद अभेद स्कूल गेट पर खड़ा था। रेहाना को देखकर वह बोला, “मैं आज शाम फिर तुम्हारे घर आ रहा हूं।”
रेहाना हंस पड़ी, “क्यों? अब तो एग्जाम खत्म हो गए हैं।”
अभेद ने धीरे से कहा, “तीन दिन की छुट्टी है। फिर रिजल्ट भी तो है। मैं
घबराया हुआ हूं। जादुई माचिस ही मुझे शांत रखेगी। प्लीज! मना मत करना। मैं
उसे रिजल्ट के दिन वापस ले आऊंगा। इसके बाद फिर कभी नहीं मांगूगा।”
रेहाना हंस पड़ी। अभेद शाम को माचिस की डिबिया ले गया। तीन दिन बाद स्कूल
खुला। अभेद ने माचिस की डिबिया रेहाना को पकड़ा दी। रेहाना ने पूछा,
“छुट्टियां कैसी रहीं?”
अभेद ने जवाब दिया, “एकदम मस्त। तीन दिन की छुट्टियां चुटकियों में बीत गईं।”
रेहाना ने माचिस की डिबिया बैग में रखते हुए कहा, “जल्दी चलो। लगता है, रिजल्ट एनाउंस होने लगे हैं।”
दोनों ग्राउंड की ओर भागे। वहां दोनों एनाउंसमेंट में अपना नाम सुनकर ठिठक
गए। रेहाना मुसकराई। कहने लगी, “अभेद! सुना तुमने! टॉप टेन लिस्ट में
तुम्हारा नाम भी पुकारा गया है।”
अभेद खुशी से उछल पड़ा। कहने लगा, “यह सब जादुई माचिस का कमाल है।”
रेहाना को जोर-जोर से हंसते देख अभेद चुप हो गया। रेहाना ने कहा, “यह सिंपल
माचिस थी। जादू कहीं नहीं होता। वह तो हमारे अंदर होता है। यदि तुम टॉप
टेन में शामिल हुए हो, तो सिर्फ और सिर्फ अपनी मेहनत और लगन से।”
अभेद कुछ नहीं बोला। बस चुपचाप वह उस माचिस की डिबिया को देख रहा था, जिसे रेहाना टुकड़े-टुकड़े कर फेंक रही थी। ’

Then the bell rang, everyone went to their class.
When the holiday was over, Abhed accompanied Rehana to her house. Giving the match, Rehana said, "You remember my words, don't you? return me to school tomorrow." Abhed nodded her head in delight.
The next morning, Rehana was standing at the school gate. Then Abhed came running and returned the match and said, "It's amazing, yesterday I had a full dinner and I had a good sleep too."
Rehana kept the matchbox in the bag and said, “I said no, it is a magic match. Now let's go." Both went to class.
Everything was fine for two or three days. Then one day seeing Abhed upset, Rehana asked, "What happened now? Are you upset again?"

Both ran towards the ground. There both were stunned after hearing their names in the announcement. Rehana smiled. She said, "Abhed! you heard! Your name has also been called in the top ten list.
Abhed jumped with joy. He said, "It's all a miracle of magic matches."
Seeing Rehana laughing out loud, Abhed fell silent. Rehana said, “It was a simple match. There was no magic anywhere. He is inside us. If you are in the top ten, then only and only with your hard work and perseverance."

मोटरसाइकिल से भी पहले साइकिल का आविष्कार हुआ। इसके दो पहिए थे। चालक उसपर
बैठकर आज की तरह पैडल मारकर उसे नहीं चलाता था बल्कि उलटी दिशा की ओर पैर
से जमीन पर धक्का देते हुए आगे बढ़ता था। यह सन 1800 के आसपास की बात है।
उन दिनों इस तरह के साइकिल को हड्डीतोड़ भी कहा जाता था। इसका कारण था उनका
असंतुलन और उसके कारण उसके सवार के गिरने पर चोट से हड्डियों का टूटना।
इंजन के आविष्कार के बाद साइकिल से आगे कारवां बढ़ा।
पहली बार मोटरसाइकिल बनाने का श्रेय अधिकांश लोग जर्मनी के गोटेब डैमलर को
देते हैं। उन्होंने यह मोटरसाइकिल सन 1885 में बनाई। इसमें दो पहिए थे।
इसमें स्प्रिरंग का प्रयोग भी किया गया था। इसे बनाने में लकड़ी का ज्यादा
प्रयोग किया गया था। पहिए भी लकड़ी के ही थे जिसमें लोहे के उपयोग भी किया
गया था। इसमें सिंगल सिलिंडर का इंजन का प्रयोग किया गया था।
इसके बाद सन 1894 में म्यूनिख की एक कंपनी हिल्देब्रांड एंड वूल्फम्यूलर
ने एक मोटरसाइकिल बनाई। इसे एक सफल मोटरसाइकिल माना गया। इसमें तेल की टंकी
नीचे की ओर थी। इसमें पहली बार एक चेसिस बनाने का प्रयास किया गया। इसके
इंजन को ठंडा रखने का लिए वाटर कूल्ड सिस्टम का प्रयोग किया गया। इसके लिए
पानी की टंकी की जगह भी मोटरसाइकिल में बनाई गई।
1895 में फ्रांस की एक कंपनी डी-डियोन ब्यूटन ने एक ऐसा इंजन बनाया, जिसने
तहलका मचा दिया। उसने छोटा, हलका और फोर स्ट्रोक सिंगल सिलिंडर का इंजन
बनाया। इसे चालू करने के लिए बैटरी और तारों का उपयोग किया गया। आधे
हार्सपावर के इस इंजन ने मोटरसाइकिल के उत्पादन को आसान बना दिया।
पर लोगों में इसकी लोकप्रियता 1910 के बाद बढ़ी। प्रथम विश्वयुद्ध के दौरान
सेना के हर विभाग ने मोटरसाइकिल का जमकर उपयोग किया। कहीं पर सूचना
पहुंचानी हो या किसी को कहीं छोड़ना हो, मोटरसाइकिल हर मापदंड पर खरी उतरी।
युद्ध के बाद इसका उपयोग खेलों में भी होने लगा। पर जल्दी ही लोग इससे
ऊबने लगे। नयापन की कमी अथवा इसमें सुधार लाने में कंपनियों की कम रुचि के
कारण लोग इससे दूर होने लगे। कंपनियों की समझ में आ गया कि लोगों को
मोटरसाइकिल से बांधे रखने के लिए उसमें लगातार बदलाव की जरूरत है। कंपनियों
के ध्यान देने पर मोटरसाइकिल की लोकप्रियता फिर बढ़ गई। पर उसका वजन कुछ
लोगों को उसे अपनाने से दूर कर रहा था। ऐसे में पश्चिमी यूरोप और अमेरिका
में साइकिलों में इंजन लगाकर उसे मोटरसाइकिल का रुप देने की कोशिश की गई।
उनकी मेहनत रंग लाई 1950 के आसपास मोटरसाइकिल के छोटे रूप मोपेड का जन्म
हुआ। इन्हें मोटरसाइकिल नहीं माना गया। अत: इसे चलाने के लिए लाइसेंस की
जरूरत नहीं थी।
लोगों ने इसमें सुधार करना जारी रखा और इटली के इंजीनियरों ने मोटर साइकिल
को नया रूप दिया। उसके पहिए छोटे कर दिए गए। चालक के बैठने की आरादायक सीट
बनाई गई। इंजन के नीचे लगाया गया, जो सीधे पहिए से जुड़ी रहती थी। इसे नया
नाम दिया गया- स्कूटर।
तब से मोटरसाइकिल के ये तीनों रूप नए रंगरूप में लगातार लोगों को लुभा रहे
हैं। परंतु पसंद के मामले में मोटरसाइकिस आज भी सबसे आगे है। आज मोटरसाइकिल
उत्पादन में होंडा, यामाहा और भारत की हीरो शीर्ष की तीन कंपनी हैं।

But its popularity among the people increased after 1910. During the First World War, every department of the army made use of the motorcycle fiercely. Whether to deliver information somewhere or drop someone somewhere, the motorcycle met every criteria. After the war, it was also used in sports. But soon people started getting tired of it. Due to lack of innovation or less interest of companies in improving it, people started turning away from it. The companies understood that to keep people tied to the motorcycle, it needed constant change. The popularity of the motorcycle rose again when the companies noticed. But his weight was keeping some people away from adopting him. In such a situation, in Western Europe and America, an attempt was made to give the bike the form of a motorcycle by installing an engine. His hard work paid off. Around 1950, the moped, a small form of motorcycle, was born. These were not considered motorcycles. So a license was not needed to operate it.
People continued to improve it, and Italian engineers revamped the motorcycle. Its wheels were shortened. A comfortable seat was made for the driver to sit. Mounted under the engine, attached directly to the wheel. It was given a new name- Scooter.
Since then these three variants of the motorcycle have been continuously wooing people with new looks. But motorcycles are still at the forefront of choice. Honda, Yamaha and Hero of India are the top three companies in motorcycle production today.
